Having been a member of Handbag.com’s discussion boards for years now, I was interested to hear about their new Facebook application which allows to rate various different fashion items according to whether you love them or hate them -the items you love are then placed in a wish list which… well, let’s just say it’ll come in handy at Christmas and birthday’s, wont it?
The application also gives you access to Handbag’s latest fashion news headlines, and limited edition gifts. You can download it here, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to sign up for The Fashion Police Facebook Group, and chat to your fellow Fashion Police readers!
For this outfit, Whit has put together something a little more casual, for those of us whose Christmas parties are relaxed affairs at which spangly dresses and strappy stilettos would make us look more overdressed than Paris Hilton at Halloween. See the links below to find out more about each item, and if you’d like to take part and put together a Christmas party outfit, just leave the links to your items in the comments field below (don’t worry if it says it’s going to the spam folder – we’ll get it back out!)
Another Christmas party suggestion, this time from Heidi, who found this dress, jacket and accessories at Forever 21. Links to each item in Heidi’s selection are below, and, as always, if you want to join in and show us what you’ll be wearing this Christmas, just leave us a comment with links to each item!
I’m hoping for some sage advice on what tights to wear with a wedding outfit (the wedding is on 22 December so I will have to wear tights. Or I will freeze). I will be wearing: this dress, these shoes in hot pink, this coat in ‘mercury’ (or grey): I’ll also be getting a shrug/bolero in either cream or pink. Now my dilemma is that I think nude tights will work best, but they’re not very fashionable? Would black opaques work or would they look odd with the shoes? I appreciate this isn’t, let’s say, the most fascinating dilemma but my brain is incapable of making a decision (it’s worn out from trying to find a frock that fits, looks great and isn’t black….and failing). I would appreciate any help you can give. T
These shocking images were submitted as evidence by Fashion Police reader Colette, and since we received them we’ve been alternately laughing ourselves silly and hiding our eyes in horror at this crime of male fashion. We know the "Dress Like a Toddler" trend had its fans amongst certain types of women, but who knew men could be persuaded to dress like this, too? Or that there was a "Dress like one of Santa’s little helpers" trend going on?
Also: those are tights he’s wearing, aren’t they? Please, someone tell us those aren’t tights, quick, before we hurl…
They tried to make us go to purple rehab, we said, "No, no, no!" I mean, yes, sure, I know everyone and their uncle is going to be wearing purple this season, but when you see purple done well, as it is in this balloon sleeved Bebe dress, you can kinda see why, can’t you?
I love just about everything about this dress: the rich colour, the wide sleeves and hem, the slight sparkle running through the fabric… And even although it’s nothing to do with the dress, I also love the bright red lipstick on the model, which works with it perfectly. I even love it in grey.
I realise I’m quite possibly alone in this, as in many things, but I loved the beige ruffled prom dress Victoria Beckham wore earlier this year – you know, back when she was parading Katie Holmes around like the latest must-have handbag. I, then, was pretty pleased to see that ASOS are now selling a version of that very dress which is not a kick in the ass off the original, for just £45. I’m not going to buy it, obviously – it would make me look naked and strangely frilly – but I am enjoying looking at it. It’s also available in black if you, too, are afraid of the "naked" look.
