Victoria Beckham buys a Marks and Spencer leather dress – and so does everyone else, apparently

Victoriabeckhamleatherdr

For someone who’s constantly being slated for her fashion sense, Victoria Beckham sure seems to be influential. Marks and Spencer, for instance, are claiming that her purchase of the black leather dress shown above has boosted their sales by 11.5%, and are describing it as "the hit of the season". Almost 30% of the first order was sold via the M&S website before they could even get the dresses onto the shop floor, and it’s been selling out ever since – all thanks to Ms. Beckham, apparently, who ordered a size 8 and had to have it taken in to fit her.

Is it really that special, though? I probably wouldn’t wear a leather dress myself, so I’m not the best person to judge, so tell me: are you one of the thousands of women who’ve bought this dress from M&S? And if not, do you want one?

I think it’s fugly and looks like an inside out bin bag, but I wouldn’t wear a leather dress either, so probably am not in a position to comment.

That dress frightens me a bit….and reminds me that I need to take the trash out to the curb tonight.
and how uncomfortable must a leather dress be!

That dress is Godawful! I agree it looks like a trashbag, (and then some) but besides not having any taste-since when can she not afford to buy a decently fitted and quality garment??? As a Designer (who specialize in leather) I find the M&S “dress” insulting to the fashion consumer and VB’s choices odd to say the least!

  6. cdbehrle says:

BTW- you need a reasonably well fitted garment to start with to be able to successfully take it in more than a size. Oh well…Garbage in-Garbage out…
