The Oscars have been the setting for many a fashion disaster over the years, but Geena Davis’s 1992 appearance was a particular low point. Geena had been nominated for an award for Thelma & Louise , so you’d have thought she’d have taken some care over her appearance, given that the eyes of the celebrity-obsessed were upon her. You’d have thought wrong, though. As if it wasn’t bad enough that she decided to go for this train wreck of a pink "mullet dress" (short in the front, long in the back), she also made sure it was good and ruffled, before adding long white gloves, black tights and totally unsuitable dress.

She didn’t win the Oscar, and she didn’t win any fashion awards either, surprisingly enough…

  1. The bodice and waistline of that dress are gorgeous and really show off her toned-and-liposuctioned body. Had the dress continued to the floor in as smooth and flattering a manner, she probably would have won both fashion and cinematic honors.
