Jeans Go Back to the 70s – Next’s new kickflares

Flaredjeans

We’ve already seen some rather frightening platform soled shoes today, so I thought it was only fair to feature a pair of massive flares, too, in keeping with the 70s vibe… I found the perfect pair this morning, while flicking through the latest copy of the Next Directory. These are their 1970s cut kickflare jeans, selling for a mere £22 in three different  fabrics (cord, denim and cotton) and a total of 8 different colours.

Being a shortass, I’ve long since learned that that amount of fabric flapping around my ankles just isn’t for me, although I do like a slightly narrower flare on a jean. What do you think?

I LOVE them – and I’m glad that these are back in fashion – skinny jeans make me look like I have monster hips!

  2. Em says:

Love them. But, I am a very very tall curvy sort of person, so this style really works to put it all in balance. I hope for the sake of the shorter people among us that they don’t become as ubiquitous as skinnies. For a long time there I couldn’t wear jeans because skinnies are so hideous on me, and they’re all anyone had!

I love that these are in fashion again! I’m a short person but I love how they shape my legs!

I wholeheartedly agreed with you- skinny jeans are a go for the trim-hipped, shorter varieties of us and a narrow flare is desirablr. Large flares or generous bootcuts look sophomoric, althougth the ladies above might be well balanced with a larger flare if tall and ample hipped.

I love them, I want them, give them to me.
    flares are brillant.
