Of course, I’m not talking about wearing your actual wardrobe – that would be silly. (Although it could also be an improvement if you were Brooke Hogan, say). No, I’m talking about winter clothes: thick tights, knee-length boots, scarves, coats – all of the usual trappings of winter in the Northern hemisphere.

Where I live, the weather has been having a bit of a blip. It may be October, but the sun has been shining and it’s been warmer on some days than it was during August (we did have a particularly bad August, mind you). Normally October 1st is my summer "cut-off" point: the time when I start wearing my thick coats with pride and put away all my summer things for another year, but this year it’s been too warm for boots and coats, so I’m stuck in a kind of halfway-house of fashion, where no matter what I wear, or how carefully I layer, I never seem to be quite the right temperature. I never thought I’d hear myself say it, but I actually wish the weather would get just a little bit colder, so that I can start wearing my winter outfits…

What about you? Are you dressed for winter, or still clinging onto summer? When do you normally make the switch?
