Y-3’s Runway Nagatabi Boot – or “over the knee wellies” to you and me

Overthekneewellies

Actually, "over the knee wellies" isn’t quite the right description for these beauties because a closer inspection reveals that the uppers aren’t made of rubber, but of nylon – so they’re more like over-the-knee running shoes.  That mated with a Wellington boot. This actually makes it worse, because while my imagination can just about stretch to imagining what kind of people might need very tall wellies (fishermen for one), I’m really struggling to imagine what possible use anyone would have for trainers that go all the way up your leg. And, come to think of it, what kind of person would pay $360 for them.

Anyone care to hazzard a guess?
