Glovers - gloves for lovers
Spotted today over at The Bag Lady, this strange, lumpen looking thing is a "glover" - a "glove for lovers". Do you see what they did there? The idea, just in case it isn't obvious, is that it's a great big mitten that you can each get a hand into at the same time. No more romantic walks spoiled by cold hands! No more "mitten on mitten" action! That's the theory, anyway. In practice, I think the degree of premeditation that would have to go into "Hey, let's go for a walk! Now, where's the glover?" would put me off a little. I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks they'd wear these, though. (And if you would, you can buy them for £19.50 from Pedlars. You'll get two single mittens with it so your other hands don't get cold either.)

I'm kind of speechless here, no comments to make, maybe I would buy them/it (??), I'm not sure my husband would still consider going out for a walk though...

I stumbled upon the (U.S.?) version last year when I was looking for mitten knitting patterns. They were calling it the 'Smitten Mitten.' I think 'Glover' is much worse.

This is so weird. Seriously, why? Surely there's a safetly issue here too, I mean what if one of you falls or gets attacked by a dog or has a heart attack and YOU'RE STUCK TOGETHER! Imagine the wasted time spent trying to get the Glover thing off when you could be saving your loved one...

myself and my boyfriend actually chipped in and bought a pair of these, but they were called "smittens." we wear these all the time when we go walking together. Especially when walking to class @ college in the winter.
