Crime of Fashion: Stirrup jeans by 7 for all Mankind

OK, this is getting scary now. It was bad enough when it was just stirrup tights we had to contend with, but when a respected denim designer like 7 for all Mankind start putting stirrups on their jeans, you know we're in trouble. Now, I can't conceive of a single reason why you'd need stirrups on the bottoms of your jeans. Sure, you could argue that it makes them easier to tuck into your boots, but I'd answer that my skinnies go into my boots just fine, thanks very much - no stirrups required. And this model is wearing them with shoes. Shoes, I tells ya. The stirrup is very much on show, and I have just one question: why?
(Get them at Scoop NYC if you absolutely must. )

I remember being horrified as a child in the 80s by stirrup pants... I hope they're not coming back into fashion.

Dear Lord, I can only shudder when I think of the design team brainstorming away; "I know, why not add STIRRUPS?" "That's a great idea! Who wouldn't love that?!" Whoever came up with this should really be punished. Severely.

I AM SORRY, IT IS A CRIME, BUT I BOUGHT A PAIR WITH REMOVABLE STIRRUPS FOR BOOTS. MY SKINNIES FIT MUCH BETTER WITH THE STIRRUP! MY 1ST DISAGREEMENT WITH YOU. BUT WITH REGULAR SHOES? NONONONONO!

i actually like the stirrup idea. ESPECIALLY for my ankle boots. BUT .. with those shoes it looks downright horrifying
