Crime of Fashion: Gold lamé mini skirt and other horrors at American Apparel
Wait a minute: when did American Apparel decide to start catering mainly to the "hooker" end of the market? As well as this gold lamé mini skirt (they call it the "Late Night Mini Skirt", and yes, you can kinda see why, can’t you?) they’re also selling these "Vegas" spandex hotpants a halter bodysuit that wouldn’t look out of place on a poledancer and a matching bra. Just call it the Little Shop of Fashion Horrors, then.
Seriously, though: who’s buying this stuff? Why are they making it? Answers on a postcard (or in the comments section, rather)…
i actually think the gold skirt would look ok if it were slightly longer and worn with a plain, maybe slightly ruffled blouse…the shimmering hotpants…INEXCUSABLE
I’m sorry, but the only person who’s able to pull off gold lame and still look hot is Hugh Jackman in ‘The Boy From Oz’. Otherwise, it should be banned.

Will be utilizing a few of their items for Halloween this year. My roommate and I are going to be superheroes. (sort of, the ambiguously gay duo) Wouldn’t wear a body suit or gold lame miniskirt on a daily basis though.

I just been to new york and spotted a few girls wearing the gold skirt and a plain white vest top with the gold headbands and they looked sooo cool!! I just bought one myself and think people need to give it a try- yes it will look trashy if you put lots of make up and overdress it but if you keep make up natural and wear it with plain top it will look great!
No- no one should give it a try. It’s just more of that hideous California, stripper look ( you know- the Pamela Anderson/B. Spears look) – there’s nothing chic, elegant, or attractive about it. PLEASE- DON”T go out in public wearing something like this.
