Crime of Fashion: Balenciaga still on the ugly shoe train

balenciagashoes Crime of Fashion: Balenciaga still on the ugly shoe train

Balenciaga is a fabulous design house, it really is. It’s my sad duty to report, however, that when we showed you those lego-esque Balenciaga shoes last week, we were but dipping our toes in the murky waters of hideousness – and those are waters which Balenciaga will not hesitate to plumb in their quest to make footwear. Witness these number, with their chunky chain-mail platform sole, their super high heels and their strange, crossover mesh straps. At least the lego shoes had some sort of comedic value. These? These are just plain fugly.

There’s more where those came from, too, but that, I think, must be another post for another day…

  1. yeah. comfortable if you’re a masochist and you like pain — that is, physical pain along with the pain that comes with being a fashion victim.
the thing that really pains me is the thought that someone got paid for designing these.

  2. All wrong! These shoes created by the Master Pierre Hardy are a work of art, done by a true craftsman. And if you don’t know…now u know!!
He does all the shoe collections for Balenciaga. They r wicked.

  3. Oh, I see… If something is designed by Pierre Hardly, then they MUST be nice, and cannot possibly be ugly. And anyone who doesn’t like them must be wrong. Is that right, deesnuts?
    Good God Almighty…
