Crime of Fashion: Are these $4175 Balenciaga shoes the ugliest footwear ever made?

Balenciaga_lego_shoes

Lookit! Lego attacked that poor woman’s foot! Oh no, wait… it’s a shoe. And while it looks like it came straight out of your kid brother’s Meccano set (do kids still play with Meccano, or am I on crack? Maybe it’s more like some kind of Transformer type thing – I mean, it certainly looks like it could turn into a car or something at just the touch of a button. It would make an ugly car, too.) but it’s actually a shoe, and, more specifically, it’s a $4,175 shoe by Balenciaga, which just goes to show that some people really do have more money than sense.

Sing it with me, folks: Transformers! Shoes in disguise!

perhaps some may find it creative n’ funny, but to me, it’s a disaster – simply fugly!

okay some designers work can be chalked up to creative genius. and it’s really cool, even if you’d never wear it. but these are just a strange abuse of power.

    The horror. The horror.
So _this_ is what Joseph Conrad meant.

you people are all nuts, these shoes rock theyre so innovative off beat and fun. of course you wouldnt wear them down the street but thats what couture is about, pushing the boundries of artistic design and challenging peoples idea of fashion…. im a snob i know, sorry :-)

  7. “You people are all nuts”.
Um, right. OK. Nice to meet you, too.

  8. Cait says:

Ahaha I agree with Sarah, they’re pretty darn cool to me, I’d even get caught wearing them if I had something to match, and didn’t value my feet.
But I’m a sucker for anything unique like this

you ppl don’t understand the creative process to get to this final product, it’s just part of a whole collection and way to express the vision of the house, doesn’t mean you have to dress like that.. just get inspired… if you buy it great.. you are buying a piece of art.

I have a knock off version (JUST AS CUTEE) for 100 from steve madden… usuallly i hate steve madden but i agree with the last few people.. I LOVE THEMMMM

  17. Justine says:

I have to agree with everyone else who said these shoes are great. Their being different is what makes them so amazing. I bought a knock-off from Bakers and they are a little harder to wear, but not with a pair of skinny jeans and a black top like Beyonce did… Try to see the art and architecture in them!
