H&M reveal Autumn/Winter 07 collection

I know most of you probably don’t want to even think about winter right now (God knows, I certainly don’t), but H&M have just released some pics of their new collection and it’s … well, it’s interesting to say the least. So, this is what you’ll be wearing this winter, folks: coats so voluminous you could house a small family under them and… wait, are those jogging pants? Thick, super-baggy jogging pants with – oh my Lord! – cuffs on the bottom? The hell? I dunno: I haven’t seen these clothes in the flesh, so for now I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. There are some more pics after the jump – be sure and tell me what you think!

Skinny jeans – good. Polka dots – good. The brown, 70s-inspired outfit? Ummm….

Plaid leggings. Plaid. Leggings.

To be fair to H&M, I don’t think these pictures are really doing the clothes much justice. In some of them, them model appears to be wearing ALL the clothes at the same time, and she’s also adopting that strange, stooped positions that some models favour, which doesn’t give you much of a chance to really examine the clothes. Maybe these would work better as individual pieces, who knows? (Note: not the baggy jogging pant things. Never them.) Whaddya think?

  1. Maybe they H&M trying to make the collection more high fashion like? Like most pieces from the catwalk that are quite…well, almost impossible to wear.

  2. H&M have always had slightly “funky” and “different” clothes. I always find myself looking through the rails for something decent, and after about 10 random items I find one good one. The huge family sized coat is totally useless, imagine a cold draft in that during winter!!!!

  3. Talking about the pieces as seperates, H&M may have some very good things coming this fall. The way they’ve pieced them together on the other hand, is not so impressive. I hope there are better things to come!

  4. i think h&m’s collection is actually pretty great. all i have to say is, that they are knocking off some pretty big high-end designers. the price tags reflect so as well. i think there women’s stuff is MUCH better then the men’s though.

  5. i think it looks a little to mary-kate and Ashley for me. baggy sweats with layer upon layer? i dont think so.

  6. the polka-dot top looks like my mums dressing gown: seriously. same size spots and colour. just shorter and cuffed sleeves. i assume its not a wrap around top.
oh. and they are not ‘Plaid’. plaid is an american term for tartan. tartan is a fabric (and these days a pattern) you use it to make kilts and plaids. a kilt is a skirt and a plaid is a scarf-y thing worn over the shoulder. shame on you. there may have to be a royal commision.
