Crime of Fashion: Toe shoes

Toeshoesfashionpolice

I have to confess that I found this picture on a discussion forum, so I know not what these are or where they come from – and I think it’s probably best if we try and keep it that way, no? I actually think this could be the biggest crime of fashion we’ve ever featured here at The Fashion Police : in fact, if there’s something uglier than these lurking out there, I’m not sure I want to know about it. (Note: I totally do want to know about it though, so, you know, send us your pictures!)

These are based along the same lines as the "toe socks" I’ve always found so very offensive to the eyes, but whoever made these has gone one better and turned them into shoes. I dunno, maybe it’s supposed to be a joke? (Please, God, let it be a joke…) I mean, I can’t imagine anyone actually wearing them, can you?

Now, excuse me while I go and stare at those Christian Louboutin peep toes again to get this image out of my head…

Hi I saw shoes like this in a rock – climbing mag. you might find that they are sport specific – rather like flippers. That of course will not stop people from wearing them out in public.

I bougth them and love them. They are great shoes and designed to feel better than any other shoes. Don’t mix “fashion” with great technical shoes. Those shoes are not meant to be fashionable.

They’re called vibram five finger shoes. They are made to make you feel like you are barefoot.

Actually, these shoes are meant for a variety of sports, including parkour. Ironically, I came across this site while searching for an Audrey Hepburn forum signature to use on a parkour forum. The shoes may be ridiculous and hideous to wear on a day to day basis, but for parkour, as well as other activities, they’re a dream come true.

I SAW THEM IN PERSON THE OTHER DAY!! While I was at work (at my fabulous cashiering job) a guy came through my line and was wearing them. At a home improvement store, no less. He looked just ridiculous. It was very hard not to say something! Crocs have NOTHING on those babies!!
