Sarah Jessica Parker has been talking to US Glamour about her new Bitten fashion range – and the fact that she feels to old for her legendary Manolos. Oh no, say it aint so!Surely you can never be too old for gorgeous shoes?
“I’ll go to the market, and women will say to me: ‘Let me see your shoes.’ And then I show them I’m wearing flip-flops. I say, ‘I’m old now. I can’t run around in heels when I go to the market for my son’s yogurt.’”
Actually, I have to admit I know how she feels. I mean, I’ve just spent most of my honeymoon sloping around in flip flops and a few weeks ago I noticed I’d started getting out my ballet flats for shopping trips rather than slipping into my trusty old stilettos. How did this happen? It used to be that I’d do EVERYTHING in heels (and I DO mean everything), but now? Not so much. I like to think I still COULD do everything in heels if I wanted to, but sometimes? I just don’t want to. No, I’ll find myself thinking, "Screw it! I’ll be more comfortable in flats when I’m circling the mall like a rabid dog for the fourth time in one afternoon!" so flats it is.
Sad, but true. It comes to us all.
