I Love My… Gap Skinny Jeans

It took me a long time to reconcile myself to skinny jeans. At first I thought it would be safer just to wait for them to go away, but of course the skinny jeans didn’t go away – they’re still very much here, well over a year since they first started to appear on our streets and in our stores, so I decided it was time to take the plunge…

That said, if it hadn’t been for Gap skinnies, I might never have been converted. These are slim cut, but not – and this is the crucial point, people – not so slim that they look like leggings. They’ll still tuck comfortably into boots if that’s the way you want to wear ‘em, but when the boots come off, you can still wear them with ballet flats or stilettos without feeling… well, naked, really.

Now that I’ve discovered I can wear skinny jeans, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. See, to be perfectly honest, I’ve really always preferred straight cut jeans to bootcuts. Yes, bootcuts are flattering, but when you’re short, like I am, a slimmer leg can be much more flattering. And this is why I love my new skinnies. Well, this and the fact that I found them in the Gap sale for £5…
