Crimes of Fashion: High Waisted Jeans

cheap monday Crimes of Fashion: High Waisted Jeans

OK, OK… Now we know that the Cheap Monday jeans shown above have been selling out all over the shop. We know that, thanks to Kate Moss’s puzzling appearance at London Fashion Week, when she turned up dressed as Simon Cowell, in high waisted jeans and grey T-Shirt, the high waist is back with a vengeance. (Thanks, Kate). But we’re just not buyin’ it. Literally. Take it from us, the high waisted jean flatters (almost) no one. It has the power to make even skinny women look pregnant, and even although its everywhere at the moment, its sheer fugliness is just going to scream “FASHION VICTIM” every time you wear ‘em.

But, I mean, it’s up to you, of course. Wear them if you will. Just don’t be surprised when we come and cart you off to Fashion Jail.

  1. While those jeans are shown unattractively, I have to say that, being high-waisted, I actually look best in high-waisted jeans. Anything else not only makes me look wider, but helps my shirts get un-tucked.
Ugly jeans are low-riders: they are GUARANTEED to make *anyone* look pregnant. In fact, that’s why they are popular again, just like in the 70′s. Whenever there is a war, there is a subconscious panic that sets in about replacing the war dead, and the trend becomes that women should look pregnant. The flowing-from-a bra style tops out there do just that, as well.

  2. research the fashion books. Christian Dior’s revolutionary fashion statement of “The New Look” in the 1940′s has withstood the test of time.
High-waist is here to stay. While not good for everybody, it accentuates the hour glass figure. The only people that look fat in them are the people don’t buy the proper sizing.
high-waisting means waist, not high waisting as in just under you breasts!
